About the position

The Performance Specialist at EXOS is responsible for instructing, motivating, and assisting clients in achieving their health and fitness goals. This role involves conducting health assessments, updating training plans, maintaining communication with clients, and partnering with employers for client engagement activities. The specialist will also report metrics to operations and participate in program planning and staff education, all while adhering to professional standards and maintaining credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct, motivate, and assist clients in a safe and ethical manner to achieve their goals.
  • Conduct on-site assessments of clients' health using proprietary evaluation protocols.
  • Update training plans and re-evaluate clients as needed for optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain constant communication with clients to ensure goals are being met.
  • Partner with employers to conduct client engagement and educational activities.
  • Present EXOS methodology through education programs.
  • Report various metrics to operations, including attendance and engagement.
  • Participate in program planning and development, and conduct related research.
  • Lead and participate in staff education covering EXOS methodology.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of personal training or strength coaching experience or completion of EXOS Performance Specialist Internship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Current industry certification, preferably NSCA-CSCS or NASM.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in developing exercise prescriptions.
  • Master's degree in Kinesiology, Sports Science, Rehabilitation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills in both small and large group settings.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Energy and passion for helping others achieve their personal goals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience teaching group fitness classes with a focus on technique improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Kinesiology, Sports Science, Rehabilitation, or related field.
