About the position

We are seeking an ECMO Coordinator (Perfusionist welcome to apply) to join our SpecialtyCare team in Albuquerque, NM. SpecialtyCare continues to grow and we'd like you to grow with us. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ECMO policies and procedures
  • Ensure staff are trained on current ECMO standards of care and perfusion technology and receive ongoing education to ensure competency
  • Provide supervision to ECMO staff and ensure proper standards of care have been implemented
  • Ensure ELSO documentation and reporting requirements are met
  • Maintain proper functioning of equipment and adequate amount of supplies
  • Serve as a back up to the ECMO specialist/primer as needed
  • Present for initial priming, circuit changes and discontinuation of therapy for patients needing ECMO
  • Ensure the safe and proper set-up of ECMO equipment and troubleshooting
  • Maintains current competency in pump technology
  • 80% direct patient care clinical responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must possess one of the following education backgrounds, credentials and experience as an ECMO Specialist: Registered Nurse (RN) - holds either an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited education program. Has an active RN license to practice.
  • Respiratory Therapist (RT)- holds either an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited education program and current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Perfusion and a certification from American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or meets other Company requirements as a Perfusionist (CCP).
  • Minimum of three years ECMO experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer Bachelor of Science Degree in healthcare related field
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
