About the position

The PeriOperative Materials Coordinator at Ben Taub Hospital is responsible for managing the inventory of medical supplies within the PeriOperative department. This role involves coordinating supply levels, ensuring proper stocking, and utilizing inventory management systems to maintain efficient operations. The position is essential for supporting the hospital's commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the community.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist in the inventory management of supplies in the PeriOperative department.
• Responsible for inventory control and stocking of medical supplies.
• Utilize the Pyxis inventory system and other related systems for inventory management.
• Interact with receiving, central supply, and PeriOperative staff to ensure supply needs are met.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of work experience in the healthcare field is required.
• Two years of experience in OR Materials Management or supplies inventory management is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with inventory management systems other than Pyxis.
• Strong analytical skills.
