About the position

Perigold, the luxury division of Wayfair, is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to lead our ambitious marketing growth agenda, including an exciting expansion into physical retail. The CMO leads a team of 20+ individuals and is responsible for a large media budget, omni-channel brand and content strategy, partner advertising, promotions, and onsite marketing. The ideal candidate has deep experience and expertise in brand and performance marketing, thrives in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, and has demonstrated interest in luxury and/or design. This role is based in Boston and works directly with the General Manager of Perigold as part of the brand’s leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee the management of a ~$50M+ advertising budget across all key platforms and channels, including Google, Meta, Pinterest, various connected TV platforms and media agencies.
  • Develop and execute an integrated, multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with Perigold’s overall business goals and market-specific nuances.
  • Manage and optimize marketing initiatives across all key channels, including SEM, PLA, social, email marketing, SMS/Push notifications, display advertising, influencer/affiliate marketing, partnerships, online video, CTV/TV and more.
  • Leverage market insights across both our B2C and B2B customer segments to identify and prioritize opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, retention, and brand positioning.
  • Be the steward of the Perigold brand, working with the Perigold Creative team and the broader brand organization to ensure an elevated positioning and consistent brand presentation in line with the brand strategy.
  • Analyze business performance and use data-driven decision-making processes to refine marketing strategies and optimize performance.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to drive your agenda, including Pricing, Finance, Technology, Data Science, Design Services, Category Management, Physical Retail, Merchandising, Customer Service.
  • Engage with external agencies, vendors, and other stakeholders to leverage external expertise and amplify marketing efforts.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximum return on investment (ROI).
  • Partner with Finance to develop the brand forecast; monitor marketing spend and adjust as needed to ensure financial targets are met.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with a strong background in brand and performance marketing, ideally including new store opening experience.
  • Demonstrated success in a senior marketing leadership role, preferably within the retail or consumer goods sector.
  • Luxury, design, or fashion industry experience a plus.
  • Proven track record of driving growth, innovation, and brand excellence on a national scale.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics, customer insights, and performance measurement tools.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, platforms, and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.
