About the position

The Perioperative Assistant at Good Samaritan University Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the nursing staff during the perioperative phase of patient care. This position involves assisting with surgical cases, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the operating rooms, ultimately contributing to the hospital's commitment to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional staff in the Operating Rooms to facilitate surgical cases by maintaining supplies and equipment including carts, scopes, and video monitors used by Nurses and Anesthesiologists.
• Coordinate all necessary services for repairs with ANCC.
• Assist the nursing personnel with surgical instrumentation and the disinfection and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
• Perform surgical case picks for same day and following day cases; assist in preparing the surgical patient in the Holding Room and care of the post-operative patient in the PACU.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous hospital experience
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer Patients/equipment
• BLS or CPR/AED training required
