About the position

The Periop Preference Card Manager (RN) is responsible for managing an accurate and efficient preference card system within the perioperative services of Hartford HealthCare. This role ensures that patient care needs are met by aligning resources and educating staff and clinicians on EPIC documentation best practices. The manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that all necessary instruments and supplies are included in preference cards for scheduled procedures, while also focusing on process improvement and performance enhancement in surgical operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate and efficient preference card system.
• Ensure alignment of patient care needs and resources.
• Educate staff and clinicians on EPIC documentation best practices.
• Work with staff, clinicians, managers, vendors, and supply chain personnel to ensure all needed instruments and supplies are on preference cards.
• Manage preference card system and case need projections.
• Lead process improvement projects within perioperative services.
• Support EPIC training for staff and clinicians as part of the Perioperative education team.
• Design data collection systems/processes to identify opportunities for improving care/service.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of perioperative experience.
• RN-Registered Nurse license, must maintain licensing status.
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical services and the surgical environment.

• 7 years of perioperative experience
• Registered Nurse CNOR preferred.
