About the position

The Perioperative Clinical Coordinator / OR Tech plays a crucial role in assisting physicians during surgical procedures by performing scrubbing duties and ensuring the overall efficiency of the Same Day Surgery Department. This position is responsible for preparing instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies for surgical cases, while also providing support to physicians, staff, and leadership to enhance departmental operational workflow. Additionally, the coordinator participates in the budget process to maintain financial strength within the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during surgical procedures by performing scrubbing duties.
• Ensure instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies are available for cases in the OR.
• Support physicians, staff, and leadership for departmental operational workflow.
• Participate in the budget process and work to maintain financial strength.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• Completion of Operating Room Technician program
• Valid and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years perioperative work experience for Perioperative Clinical Coordinator Role
• Strong clinical knowledge of operating room procedures, equipment, techniques, and services
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology
• Knowledge of surgical practices and medical terminology
• Knowledge of sterile technique and precautions
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, equipment, and their use
