About the position

The Perioperative Registered Nurse will provide exceptional nursing care in a high-end clinic specializing in aesthetic and medical treatments. This role involves pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process in a luxurious, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient with safe, therapeutic and quality medical care by utilizing the nursing process and setting appropriate priorities.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care, revises plan of care if applicable, then continues with other tasks.
  • Maintains efficient functioning of equipment in assigned area.
  • Completes patient charting accurately and concisely.
  • Assists anesthesiologist before, during, and after induction of anesthesia.
  • Assists physician in performance of procedures through implementation of the perioperative process.
  • Monitors sterile and aseptic techniques in all areas of the perioperative process.
  • Communicates appropriate information to all team members concerning patient care throughout the perioperative stay.
  • Safely carries out physician's orders; accurately and promptly documenting all activities.
  • Provides necessary material, supplies, and equipment in good working order for the completion of quality patient care during the perioperative stay.
  • Participates in quality improvement monitoring.
  • Complies with cost containment practices.
  • Attends and participates in inservice programs and staff meetings.
  • Observes all safety precautions and complies with all health and safety rules and procedures of the facility.
  • Maintains and updates patient and physician statistical data relating to the perioperative process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
  • PACU knowledge preferred but not required; must be willing to learn.
  • OR knowledge preferred but not required; must be willing to learn.
