About the position

Woodburn Surgery Center is seeking a Perioperative Support Specialist II to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial in assisting with patient care by retrieving and delivering requested supplies, instruments, and equipment to the operating rooms as directed by the surgical team. The Perioperative Support Specialist II will demonstrate professional and advanced knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques and surgical procedures, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires effective communication and cooperation with other clinical disciplines, maintaining respect and understanding of their roles in the surgical process. The specialist will also be responsible for self-development and continuous learning to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field. In addition to supporting the surgical team, the Perioperative Support Specialist II will provide equipment support for operating room staff and surgeons before and during operative procedures. This is essential to avoid delays in procedures and turnover times, which can impact patient care and operational efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care by retrieving and delivering requested supplies, instruments, and equipment to the operating rooms as directed by the surgical team.
  • Demonstrate professional and advanced knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques and surgical procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others while maintaining respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for self-development.
  • Provide equipment support for operating room staff and surgeons before and/or during operative procedures to avoid procedure and turnover delays.

Requirements

  • Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start
  • Experience - 2 years of recent hospital experience and/or previous surgical services experience.
  • Education - High School or GED
  • Communication / Critical Thinking - Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
