About the position

The Permanency and Youth Services Data Analyst position serves as the senior authority for performance measures within the Colorado Child Welfare Division. This role focuses on data management, program evaluation, and the creation of reports and business rules to measure child welfare outcomes. The analyst collaborates with county and external stakeholders to analyze and report on child welfare data, ensuring that the data is accessible and useful for decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research activities to meet data analysis and evaluation needs for assigned programs.
  • Design and develop research methodologies and statistical models for data analysis.
  • Utilize advanced SQL programming to extract and prepare data for analysis.
  • Conduct statistical data analysis using SPSS, R, SAS, or similar tools.
  • Identify patterns and trends in data, determining underlying causes of changes.
  • Evaluate statistical methods to ensure validity and accuracy of data analysis.
  • Present findings to diverse audiences in both oral and written formats.
  • Manage the accuracy and validity of child welfare data using county scorecards and reporting databases.
  • Participate in performance metrics meetings, preparing materials and analyses for internal and external partners.
  • Maintain the Division's SQL Server database and monitor data refreshes.

Requirements

  • Eight years of relevant experience in data analysis or a related field.
  • A combination of education and experience equating to eight years in a relevant occupation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of social science research methodology and outcome measurement.
  • Experience with the Results Oriented Management (ROM) System.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL and Toad for Oracle.
  • Experience with Colorado's Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (Trails).
  • Familiarity with Tableau and Crystal Reports.
