About the position
The position available at King Philip High School is designed for individuals who will cover classes for teachers when they are absent. This role is crucial in ensuring that the educational process continues smoothly and that students receive the support they need, especially those with special needs. The position is benefit eligible and requires a commitment of five days a week.
Responsibilities
- Manages classes when a teacher is absent.
- Assumes all responsibilities for the absent teacher during their absence.
- May prepare lesson plans with assistance when not available in the classroom.
- Maintains appropriate records including checking test papers and recording grades.
- Records student assignments for homework and projects, and performs necessary clerical work.
- Provides assistance for students needing special help on days when no teacher is absent.
- Offers individualized and small group assistance as indicated by lesson plans.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certificate preferred, not required.
