About the position

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the accounting department, focusing on month-end closing procedures and the preparation of various financial statements. This position involves managing cash transactions, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company guidelines. The role requires collaboration with team members and a strong analytical mindset to support accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Record all incoming and outgoing cash transactions for assigned bank accounts, ensuring entries adhere to accounting principles and company guidelines
• Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly
• Prepare entries to capture minority interest net (loss) income, distributions
• Prepare entries to record the monthly amortization of prepaid expenses
• Prepare entries to capture capitalizable cloud implementation costs and subsequent amortization
• Analyze and capitalize costs flowing through asset clearing account associated with fixed assets
• Record the depreciation expense and accumulated depreciation for fixed assets
• Manage the fixed asset rollforward for furniture and fixtures, equipment, and leasehold improvements
• Coordinate any necessary fixture inventory counts
• Complete financial statement audit requests as assigned

Requirements

• 3+ years as a senior accountant
• Fixed asset experience
• Inventory experience
• Strong GL experience
• Proficiency in journal entries, debits, and credits
