About the position
The Permanent Substitute Teacher position at Madison Elementary School involves being embedded within the school community for the entire school year. The role is designed to provide consistent support in classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring that students receive uninterrupted instruction and that educational goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with other teachers regarding planning, assessment, and grade level meetings.
- Instruct students using lesson plans provided by the absent teacher or create new lesson plans as needed.
- Prepare students for testing and achieve curriculum goals during the teacher's absence.
- Develop lesson plans as necessary to meet educational objectives.
- Familiarize oneself with district curriculum and available resources.
- Maintain classroom safety and manage student behavior effectively.
- Perform supervision duties as assigned, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Assist in the development of curricular materials as needed.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Professional Educator License or Substitute License is required.
