About the position

Permanent Substitute Teachers at Grow Elementary School are essential members of our educational team. In addition to providing coverage when teachers are absent or attending meetings, our substitute teachers play a key role on the behavioral team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of students with social-emotional disabilities in a therapeutic milieu. We are looking for care, creative, compassionate individuals to join us as we help students reach their potential. The role requires a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, where students feel safe and encouraged to express themselves. Substitute teachers will also collaborate with other staff members to implement individualized education plans and support students' unique needs. This position is not just about filling in for absent teachers; it is about being an integral part of the educational process and making a positive impact on students' lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for absent teachers and assist in classroom management.
• Support the behavioral team in implementing strategies for students with social-emotional disabilities.
• Collaborate with staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
• Create a safe and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Encourage and support students in their academic and social-emotional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field (Required).
• Teaching Certification (Required).
• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting (1 year Required).
• Classroom management skills.
