About the position

The Permit Specialist at MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions is responsible for overseeing the entire permitting process for construction projects. This role involves ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required applications, collaborating with various teams, and maintaining compliance with local regulations. The position requires strong communication skills to liaise with government agencies and support project execution effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire permitting process for construction projects.
• Complete permit applications including necessary forms and reviewing drawings for completeness.
• Schedule permit intake appointments and manage a 3rd Party permit runner.
• Track and maintain permit costs for proper job costing.
• Maintain good working relationships with local jurisdictions and stay current on standards and processes.

Requirements

• A track record of understanding and completing complex permitting processes.
• Building code knowledge is a plus.
• Expertise using Microsoft Office and BlueBeam, and comprehension of trade drawings and documents.
• At least 3 years in administrative support with a focus in permitting or documentation management.
