About the position

The Permit Technician at EXO Energy plays a crucial role in facilitating the permitting process for solar installation projects. This position involves preparing and submitting permit applications, ensuring compliance with local codes, and maintaining accurate records. The technician will work closely with various departments and management teams to ensure timely project completion and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Research and prepare all necessary documentation for solar installation permits in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Submit permit applications to local municipalities and building departments.
• Track and follow up on the status of permit applications to ensure timely approval.
• Review plans and designs to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with local jurisdictions, contractors, and clients regarding permit-related issues.
• Maintain and organize records of all permit applications, approvals, and correspondence.
• Assist project managers and installers with obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in local building codes and permitting processes.
• Work with local authorities to resolve permit issues or deficiencies promptly.
• Submit permits in person when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or Associate's degree with experience in construction or photovoltaic systems.
• Entry-level position, suitable for recent graduates or those with relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Valid Driver's License.
