The Permitting Project Manager at GreenKey Solar plays a crucial role in driving the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This position involves managing the permitting process from initial feasibility evaluations to obtaining full land-use permits, while collaborating with various stakeholders and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the development team and external consultants to manage land use permitting from feasibility evaluation to notice to proceed.
  • Independently manage projects through local permitting processes, coordinating with attorneys, engineers, and environmental specialists.
  • Build strong relationships with government bodies, community groups, and other stakeholders to secure project approvals.
  • Coordinate sub-consultants, track regulations, and assist with permitting applications, ensuring attention to detail and creative solutions.
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time to meet with local officials, attend public hearings, and engage with landowners.

Requirements

  • Degree in business, finance, real estate, urban and regional planning, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience permitting large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a self-starter attitude, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
