About the position

The Group Home Program Coordinator position in Muskegon, Michigan involves managing a full range of activities for persons served in a group home. Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, conducting and scheduling staff education classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs.
  • Assist persons served with personal care, implementing individual plans of service as needed.
  • Collaborate with assigned case manager/social worker and other professional support staff on the development and implementation of individual program plans.
  • Review and evaluate daily documentation of incident reports and program assignments.
  • Participate in establishing and meeting home's objectives relating to persons served.
  • Assign staff duties daily; monitor and ensure quality of service meets all division, agency and regulatory standards.
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the home manager.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of DCH Residential Program Training Requirements.
  • Attain and maintain all required certifications (i.e., CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, etc.).
  • Complete required Community Mental Health (CMH) Group home training.
  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • Ability to carry out written, oral and diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to document accurately and completely.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English language with proper use of grammar, punctuation and diction.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability and willingness to work with vulnerable adults.
