About the position

We are seeking a dedicated, professional, and highly organized Personal Assistant & Caregiver for a prominent chef, media personality, and restaurant owner. This individual has a spinal cord injury and requires a compassionate, detail-oriented assistant who can seamlessly manage both personal and professional aspects of their life. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with an inspiring individual who is deeply involved in the culinary world and media industry. The role involves providing daily personal care, including assistance with mobility, hygiene, and other personal needs, as well as supporting physical therapy exercises and wellness activities as directed by healthcare professionals. You will also be responsible for administering medications and ensuring medical appointments are scheduled and attended. In addition to personal care, the Personal Assistant & Caregiver will manage the client's calendar, including scheduling appointments, coordinating events, and ensuring punctuality. You will assist with meal planning, preparation, and grocery shopping, handle correspondence, emails, and phone calls, and act as a liaison between the client and business contacts. Driving the client to various appointments, events, and engagements is also a key responsibility. Household management is another critical aspect of this role, which includes overseeing and maintaining a clean, organized living and working environment, coordinating household services, and managing household inventory. You will also arrange travel plans, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation, and accompany the client on business trips or personal vacations as needed, ensuring all travel needs are met. Additionally, you will assist in the planning and execution of events, coordinating with event staff, vendors, and media to ensure smooth operation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years as a personal assistant, caregiver, or similar role, preferably with high-profile individuals.
  • Experience in healthcare or caregiving, particularly with spinal cord injuries, is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Discreet and professional, with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and order.
  • Proficient in Computer and other relevant software.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with a genuine desire to improve the client's quality of life.
  • Highly dependable with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing needs and environments.
  • Physically fit to assist with mobility and other physical tasks.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
