About the position

The Personal Assistant/Caregiver role at Proactive Home Care involves providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. The position requires effective communication with patients and their families, ensuring safety and comfort, and maintaining a clean living environment. Caregivers will assist with daily activities, meal preparation, and medication reminders, while respecting residents' rights and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care to patients in the client's home
• Assist with daily activities and personal care needs
• Monitor and ensure patient safety and comfort
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families
• Assist individuals with daily activities including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders
• Ensure residents' rights and privacy are respected at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure holistic care

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation
• Ability to commute to and reside in the Macomb County area (near 48044)
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality protocols
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings
• Basic nursing skills or willingness to learn under supervision
• Understanding of social work principles and practices
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and meal preparation
• Familiarity with resident rights and advocacy

Nice-to-haves

• Caregiving experience of 1 year (Preferred)
