About the position

Atlanta-based defense contractor is seeking to fill 2 full-time Personal Assistant Services (PAS)/Caregivers and administrative support for Reasonable Accommodations for employees, applicants, and visitors with disabilities services. PAS services will be performed at the Defense Intelligence Agency Headquarters in Washington DC. The individual will provide daily assistance to DIA civilian employees and applicants with targeted disabilities who require assistance with activities of daily living and/or mobility during the employees' working hours, as well as preparing documentation and business support. The role requires the individual to work autonomously, assessing when issues need to be elevated to achieve the program's mission. The candidate must be proficient with the MS Office Suite and possess the ability to organize files, assist with light filing, and answer phones. Physical demands include the ability to lift, move, transfer, and/or position employees in wheelchairs while complying with policies, procedures, and specific protocols. The individual must also be able to read, write, understand, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate. Specific duties include pre-conferencing with the employee and the Program Office to identify specific employee needs, tasks to be performed, and discussing accommodations. The individual will document specific needs and/or interventions while restricting personal health information only to the Program Manager and the Program Office. They will provide assistance related to accessibility for the employee and elevate any requests for accommodations outside the scope of effective access to the program manager and COR. Basic nursing interventions such as lifting, positioning, and/or ambulating will be required, along with supporting the employee's independence by assisting with feeding, personal hygiene, and other daily activities. The role also involves note-taking, reading support for blind and low-vision employees, and coordinating travel logistics for employees requiring assistance. The contractor will perform Reasonable Accommodations Specialist tasks during periods when eligible employees may not require services, including monitoring email boxes, scheduling, maintaining customer profiles, and performing other administrative duties as assigned. Administrative duties are secondary and may never take priority over the personal care of the eligible employee. Medical treatment will not be required or authorized by the individual. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties as assigned, ensuring they do not take priority over personal care.

Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent training accepted in lieu of certification.
  • Ability to work autonomously and assess when issues need to be elevated.
