About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated personal assistant/companion for a young individual who requires support in various aspects of life, including social skills development and transportation to appointments and activities. The ideal candidate will be someone who is patient, kind, and understanding, with a genuine desire to help foster growth and learning in a supportive environment. This role involves taking the individual to various activities such as yoga and horse-riding classes, as well as assisting with learning new skills like cooking. The position is designed to be engaging and enjoyable, providing an opportunity to connect over shared interests such as movies, music, and animals. The assistant will be expected to work approximately 150 hours per month, averaging 37.5 hours per week, and will need to have a clean criminal record, a valid driver's license, and a reliable vehicle to transport the individual to and from activities.

Responsibilities

• Take the individual to appointments and activities.
• Assist with social skills development.
• Engage in conversations about movies, music, and animals.
• Teach cooking skills as requested.
• Provide transportation to yoga and horse-riding classes.

Requirements

• Must have a clean criminal record.
• Must be non-smoking and drug/alcohol-free.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs or developmental delays is preferred.
