About the position

The Personal Assistant to an Artist role at Michelle Sakhai Studios involves providing administrative and studio support to a fine art painter. This part-time position requires an organized and self-motivated individual who can manage various tasks efficiently while maintaining a flexible schedule. The assistant will be responsible for managing communications, inventory, social media content, and personal tasks for the artist.

Responsibilities

  • Manage studio email inbox and keep marketing materials up to date.
  • Find and apply to appropriate artist opportunities, including writing submission applications and prepping images.
  • Communicate with galleries regarding artist opportunities.
  • Manage inventory, including filing images and keeping inventory lists updated.
  • Create and upload content for social media platforms, particularly Instagram.
  • Update the Squarespace website with current information.
  • Schedule meetings and manage calendars for the artist.
  • Assist with personal tasks of the artist.
  • Manage any interns on board.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Experience with Squarespace is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with light art handling and artist assistant duties, such as prepping canvases and packing paintings.
