We are currently seeking a Personal Assistant for The Barclay House of Aiken, who will play a crucial role in supporting our assisted living and memory care residents. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about serving others and making a positive impact in the lives of older adults. As a Personal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing companionship and supportive listening to our residents, assisting them with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. You will also be tasked with reporting any changes in the health and status of residents, completing daily data sheets to record their progress, and assisting with memory and performance improvement programs. Light housekeeping and laundry duties will also be part of your responsibilities, along with assisting with dining as needed and engaging residents in activities that promote happiness and engagement. Responsibilities

  • Supports assisted living and memory care residents by providing companionship and supportive listening.
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Reports changes in the health and status of residents and completes daily data sheets to record progress.
  • Assists residents with memory and performance improvement programs.
  • Performs light housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Assists with dining as needed or as directed by the leadership team.
  • Engages residents in activities to keep them happy and involved.

Requirements

  • Must have a caring heart and willingness to serve others.
  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred but not required unless state requirement.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Must be flexible and prepared to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience working with older adults preferred.
