About the position

Pauline and Thomas Healthcare (P&T) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. We are currently seeking a Personal Assistant (PA) in College Grove, Tennessee, who will play a crucial role in supporting our individuals to lead independent lives and enhance their quality of life. The Personal Assistant will be responsible for providing direct support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them with daily living activities, personal care, and implementing Individual Support Plans (ISP). This position is vital in fostering meaningful relationships between the individuals we serve and their community, ensuring they receive the care and support they need to thrive. The Personal Assistant will work closely with one individual, providing tailored support that meets their unique needs. Responsibilities include administering medications, accompanying individuals to medical appointments, and maintaining appropriate documentation. The PA will also engage in activities that promote independence and self-sufficiency, helping individuals develop essential life skills. This role requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those with disabilities. The compensation for this position is competitive, with an hourly rate of $13.75. We offer flexible scheduling options, with shifts available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, as well as weekend shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for 1 individual
  • Assist individuals with disabilities with their daily living and independence skills/personal care
  • Implement Individual Support Plans (ISP)
  • Administer medication(s) and complete appropriate documentation
  • Accompany person supported to medical appointments
  • Foster a meaningful relationship between the individuals and their community

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • I9 Identification (Social Security Card, Passport, etc.)
  • Required to walk or stand regularly
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, climb, stop and squat
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
