About the position

Great Southern Bank is seeking a dedicated Banking Center Associate to facilitate the sales and service needs of our customers. This role is pivotal in assessing customer interests in our bank services and products, making appropriate referrals to ensure customer satisfaction and engagement. The Banking Center Associate will provide exceptional customer support and service, fostering strong customer relationships while meeting or exceeding production goals and regulatory requirements. In this position, you will be accountable for representing the bank in a courteous and professional manner, implementing the 5 Winning Ways of Customer Service daily. You will greet and direct customers both in person and via telephone, ensuring a welcoming environment. A key aspect of your role will involve developing customer relationships by identifying their needs and making suitable recommendations for products and services. You will also be responsible for performing Personal Banker functions, including opening accounts and assisting customers with various transactions. Additionally, you will assist your assigned manager with preparing reports, compiling documentation, and working collaboratively with existing banking center staff to achieve cross-sales and referral goals. Compliance with banking regulations is crucial, and you will maintain confidentiality of customer information while ensuring effective implementation of bank security policies. Regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the bank in a courteous and professional manner, implementing the 5 Winning Ways of Customer Service.
  • Direct and greet customers both in person and via telephone, meeting or exceeding Secret Shop score expectations.
  • Develop customer relationships by identifying needs and making appropriate recommendations for products and services.
  • Seek referrals from customers and meet or exceed referral goals using the CRM program for customer profiling.
  • Perform Personal Banker functions including opening accounts and cashing Certificates of Deposit.
  • Assist customers with Safe Deposit Box entry, ensuring proper identification in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assist the assigned manager with the preparation of various reports and documentation.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer account information and ensure effective implementation of bank security policies.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 to 12 months of related experience and/or training.
  • Prior banking experience is preferred.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license and/or ability to travel to training sites and other banking center locations is required.
  • Regular use of desktop/laptop computer, basic operating systems, and specialized software systems is necessary.
  • Basic experience with alphanumeric data entry, PowerPoint, Excel, and word processing is required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Nice-to-haves

  • Notary license preferred.
