About the position

The Personal Banker I (PB I) position at Lone Star National Bank is designed for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a focus on results. The PB I plays a crucial role in making a positive impact on customers' lives by building strong relationships and understanding their financial needs. This role involves establishing various types of accounts and processing credit applications for customers. The PB I is expected to have a strong passion for success and engage with prospects to develop new business opportunities while deepening relationships with existing customers, all while delivering exceptional quality service. In this role, the PB I will provide a welcoming environment and communicate professionally and effectively with customers and team members. They will display a passion for serving others and consistently execute exceptional quality service. The position requires applying strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial solutions for both new and existing customers. The PB I will be responsible for a complete range of customer service tasks, including opening new accounts, issuing credit cards, and cross-selling other bank products and services such as self-service banking solutions (ATM, Mobile Banking, etc.). Additionally, the PB I will actively contribute to meeting the banking center's goals, as well as individual sales and referral goals by cross-selling and referring customers to bank business partners when more complex financial needs are recognized, such as Commercial Lending, Mortgage, Insurance, Investments, Merchant Services, Wealth Management, or Treasury Management. The role also involves participating in job-specific training and maintaining current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting suspicious or unusual customer activity as per bank policy. Compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, as well as established bank policies and procedures, is essential for this position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field preferred.
  • 1 year of cash handling experience required.
  • 1 year of banking experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate business account documentation and consumer loan documentation preferred.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new information and technology platforms.
  • Experience using personal computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as scheduled, including Monday through Friday and Saturday rotation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales, marketing, or operations may substitute for degree preference.
  • Proficiency with BSA and CIP.
