About the position

The Personal Banker I (PB I) at Lone Star National Bank is a customer-focused role aimed at building strong relationships with clients and addressing their financial needs. The PB I is responsible for establishing various types of accounts, processing credit applications, and providing exceptional customer service while actively contributing to the banking center's sales goals. This entry-level position requires a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, and a passion for helping customers succeed financially.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming environment and communicate professionally with customers and team members.
  • Display passion for serving others and execute exceptional quality service consistently.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify financial solutions for customers.
  • Open all types of new accounts, credit cards, and cross-sell other bank products/services.
  • Contribute to meeting the banking center's goals and individual sales and referral goals.
  • Participate in job-specific training and other bank training programs as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, reporting suspicious activity as per bank policy.
  • Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations, and established bank policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of rules and regulations related to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 1 year of cash handling experience required.
  • 1 year of banking experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate business account documentation and consumer loan documentation preferred.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new information and technology platforms.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including Monday through Friday and Saturday rotation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or marketing is a plus.
  • Proficiency with BSA and CIP is preferred.
