About the position

As a Personal Banker II at Cadence Bank, you will provide exceptional service by processing banking transactions and building strong customer relationships. The role involves understanding customer needs, offering appropriate financial products, and educating clients on various banking channels. You will work in a team environment, assisting with both consumer and small business accounts, while also meeting sales objectives and ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process routine banking transactions and support the transactional needs of the banking center.
  • Open and process consumer and small business deposit accounts, providing appropriate solutions for cash flow management.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with frequent interactions with customers and teammates.
  • Originate simple consumer lending products such as personal loans and credit cards.
  • Educate customers on alternative banking channels including online and mobile banking, interactive tellers, and full-service ATMs.
  • Meet or exceed individual sales and referral objectives as measured by a scorecard.
  • Handle cash and adhere to proper balancing procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, fees, policies, and current offers to assist customers effectively.
  • Explore customer financial needs and recommend bank services, referring customers to other departments when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant bank regulations and stay updated on changes.
  • Engage in community activities and financial literacy initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.
  • Previous banking or demonstrated sales experience in business, retail, or other industries.
  • 1-year cash handling experience in a banking or retail environment preferred (2+ years for level II).
  • Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with consumers and small businesses in a structured, goal-based environment preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with problem-solving abilities.
