About the position

The Personal Banker at Valley National Bank is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support for sales and service activities across various branches. This role involves developing new business by educating clients about banking products and services, performing routine banking transactions, and ensuring compliance with operational procedures. The Personal Banker will engage with customers to analyze their financial needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions while exemplifying the bank's quality service standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley's mission statement.
• Engage customers with friendly and professional service.
• Educate and demonstrate bank products and services to customers.
• Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Travel to various branch locations as directed by the District Operations Manager to ensure high levels of customer service.
• Meet with customers to analyze financial needs and maximize sales opportunities.
• Open new accounts and discuss/sell loan products to existing and prospective customers.
• Maintain and balance a cash box and utilize technology for effective service delivery.
• Act as Vault Teller, ensuring adequacy of branch cash for daily transactions.
• Report significant matters and unusual customer activity to the Manager.
• Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in banking or customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to adapt to different staff and customers in varying branches.

• Experience with online banking and mobile banking solutions.
