About the position

The Personal Banker/Teller - Floater position at The First Bank involves providing quality customer service in a retail banking environment. The role focuses on processing financial transactions, opening accounts, and promoting bank products through proactive sales efforts. The position requires flexibility to travel to different branch locations as needed and to work on a Saturday rotation schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, accurate, and timely customer service involving daily processing of financial transactions and opening accounts.
  • Promote bank products through positive proactive sales to prospects and cross sales to customers.
  • Perform outbound sales calls as required to achieve branch goals.
  • Provide teller/platform support to minimize wait times and enhance customer service.
  • Process daily financial transactions including deposits, handling currency, and cashing checks.
  • Open checking and savings accounts and provide other deposit product services.
  • Inform clients of products/services and identify their financial needs to close sales.
  • Explain product benefits, changes, restrictions, and requirements to clients.
  • Cross-sell and make referrals to bank partners to generate new business.
  • Take loan applications for personal/retail consumer needs and hand off processing to the appropriate associate.
  • Assist branch management with on-the-job training of new associates.
  • Participate in branch meetings to enhance knowledge of sales initiatives and operational processes.
  • Assist branch associates with all aspects of daily branch operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1 year of experience as a Teller preferred.
  • Experience as both Teller and Relationship Banker strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel to any branch location to cover periods of absence or peak business periods.
  • Ability to work Saturday rotation schedule and be available for opening and/or closing shifts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Access) preferred.
  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator and coin counter.
  • Experience with Jack Henry Silverlake, Argo, Equifax, check order system, Synergy, and 4-Sight preferred.
