About the position

The Personal Banker at WaFd Bank plays a crucial role in enhancing the financial health of clients by providing tailored banking solutions. This position involves assisting both personal and business clients, fostering relationships, and ensuring adherence to the bank's core values. The Personal Banker is expected to be proactive, creative, and knowledgeable about bank products and services, while also demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal and business banking solutions to improve their financial health.
  • Open new accounts and discuss or originate loans for clients.
  • Onboard new clients and introduce digital and self-service options.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff through various channels including phone and video chat.
  • Function as a concierge or greeter for clients visiting the bank.
  • Make out-of-office calls to businesses and community organizations for relationship building.
  • Develop necessary competencies and certifications to support branch performance goals.
  • Proactively accept initiatives and assignments as needed.
  • Adhere to bank policies and procedures to comply with Federal regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or approved equivalent.
  • Prior banking experience, including familiarity with lending and retail service delivery.
  • Good math skills, 10-key, and keyboarding proficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Teams, PowerBI, and Outlook.
  • Well-developed smartphone and digital channel skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate automated technology to clients for self-service skills.
  • Valid driver's license, satisfactory transportation, and adequate insurance coverage.
  • Candidates must meet all requirements of NMLS Registry.
