About the position

As a Personal Banker at KeyBank, you will serve as a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to individuals and businesses within the community. Your role will involve engaging clients in meaningful conversations to uncover their financial needs and provide tailored guidance and solutions that promote their financial wellness. This position requires a proactive approach, as you will be expected to reach out to clients through calling efforts in addition to in-person interactions. You will work collaboratively with the branch team to attract new clients and deepen relationships with existing clients, ensuring they feel confident in their financial decisions. The Personal Banker is expected to embody a strong client experience culture, being fully present with every client and teammate. You will listen for opportunities to enhance clients' financial wellness and provide customized recommendations. Achieving individual activity, behavior, and outcome expectations is crucial, as is the ability to open personal and business accounts, including various deposit products and lending options. Building strong partnerships with branch teammates and other business partners will be essential for client acquisition and relationship deepening. Compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures is a key responsibility, as is supporting branch operations by assisting with client transactions on the Teller line when necessary. You will also participate in team meetings and debriefs, contributing to a collaborative work environment. The Personal Banker role is dynamic, with responsibilities that may evolve over time, requiring adaptability and a commitment to KeyBank's values and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Engage clients in conversations to uncover financial needs and provide customized solutions.
  • Open personal and business accounts, including various deposit products and lending options.
  • Develop strong partnerships with branch teammates and business partners to enhance client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures.
  • Assist with client transactions on the Teller line as needed.
  • Participate in morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs to foster team collaboration.
  • Consistently meet individual activity, behavior, and outcome expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in developing customer relationships and achieving sales goals.
  • Understanding of consumer credit, including loan-to-value, debt-to-income, and credit reports.
  • Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques, including tele-consulting and networking.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and digital technology, including MS Office and mobile applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfortable interacting with small business clients and overcoming objections.
  • Notary License preferred.

Benefits

  • Base hourly rate of $24 to $30 depending on location and experience.
