About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals and those with disabilities. This position involves providing essential support and assistance in various daily activities, ensuring that clients can maintain their independence and dignity. Your responsibilities will include light housekeeping tasks, running errands, assisting clients with bathing and personal care, and preparing meals. The role is designed for individuals who are compassionate, patient, and willing to learn, as we provide training for the right candidates. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, fostering a supportive and respectful environment. This position offers flexible hours, allowing you to work locally and manage your schedule effectively. We are looking for team players who can communicate well with both clients and team members, ensuring a collaborative approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist elderly individuals and those with disabilities with daily living activities.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Run errands for clients, including grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions.
• Assist clients with bathing and personal care needs.
• Prepare meals according to client preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure quality care.
• Accept and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.

Requirements

• Demonstrates a mature and caring attitude towards clients.
• Ability to work as a team member and accept instructions.
• Strong communication skills with clients and team members.
• Must pass OSBI screening.
• Possess a telephone and dependable transportation.
• Valid driver's license and liability insurance.

Nice-to-haves

• CNA/CHHA certification is beneficial but not required.
