About the position

The Personal Care Aide (PCA) position involves providing essential support to residents in a care facility, focusing on personal care, medication assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The PCA plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by assisting with daily activities, ensuring hygiene, and facilitating medication management.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in the dining room during mealtime by distributing meals.
• Clean the dining room after meals when required.
• Distribute facility-provided snacks to residents during evening snack time.
• Assist residents with showering and bathing as needed.
• Help residents maintain a healthy hygiene routine.
• Launder residents' clothing, linens, and towels as needed.
• Provide limited mobility assistance to residents as needed.
• Answer call bells and check residents' whereabouts during rounds.
• Assist residents with operating the elevator lift.
• Perform housekeeping and light maintenance tasks, including cleaning resident rooms and making beds.

Requirements

• Ability to assist residents with personal care tasks.
• Experience in a caregiving or personal care role is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a healthcare or assisted living environment.
• Certification in CPR or first aid.
