About the position

The Personal Care Aide (PCA) role is focused on providing compassionate personal care services to residents in a community setting. The position emphasizes creating a safe and inviting environment while ensuring that residents receive the necessary support for their daily activities. The PCA will work closely with residents, families, and team members to uphold quality service standards and promote socialization and well-being among residents.

Responsibilities

• Follow the service plan in providing services to Residents.
• Assist in the development and updating of each Resident's service plan.
• Daily light housekeeping as outlined in the service plan.
• Assist Residents with activities of daily living; including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene and mobility.
• Encourage socialization among Residents.
• Assist with the activity program; conduct activities as directed by the Activity Coordinator or as assigned by Supervisor.
• Encourage and/or remind Residents to participate in activities. Promote activities enthusiastically to pique Residents' interest.
• Monitor health, safety and well-being of Residents.
• Assist in keeping the environment safe for Residents.

Requirements

• Training/experience as nursing assistant.
• Experience or interest in working with older adults.
• Maturity, friendliness and enjoyment of working with people.
