About the position

The Personal Care Aide (PCA) position at Meadowview Assisted Living Center is designed to provide essential support to residents in a long-term care environment. This role involves performing direct care tasks as outlined in each resident's care plan and under the guidance of a supervisor. The PCA will be expected to follow all health, sanitary, and infection control policies, maintaining the highest standards of practice as established by the community's administration and nursing policies. In this part-time role, the PCA will work various shifts, including first and second shifts, and will be compensated at a rate of up to $16 per hour. Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe environment for residents.
  • Give emotional and social support to residents.
  • Attend to residents' physical needs and comfort.
  • Perform direct care to residents as assigned in accordance with their care plans.

  • Maintain established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.
  • Carry out both verbal and written directions as instructed by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a high school program or be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of required coursework with demonstration of competency.
  • Possess basic computer skills and ability to navigate through various software programs, including electronic health record software.
  • Ability to communicate in English and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers, and community staff in the performance of duties.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
