About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position at Vancrest of Eaton offers a rewarding opportunity to enhance the lives of residents through compassionate care. The PCA is responsible for ensuring that residents' personal care needs are met with a focus on quality, compassion, and timeliness. This role involves addressing residents' medical needs by delivering quality nursing care and effectively communicating with the charge nurse regarding any concerns or changes in the residents' conditions. The PCA will also maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant physical environment for the residents, ensuring that their nutritional needs are met according to established care plans. Additionally, the PCA will assist in managing residents' medication needs and perform other related activities as assigned or requested. This position is crucial in promoting total resident satisfaction, which is a core value at Vancrest.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that residents' personal care needs are provided for with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness.
• Addressing residents' medical needs through the delivery of quality nursing care and reporting to the charge nurse.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant physical environment for residents.
• Ensuring that residents' nutritional needs are met in accordance with established care plans and reporting to the appropriate director.
• Performing other related activities as assigned or requested.
• Ensuring residents' medication needs are met.

Requirements

• Ability to move (sit, stand, bend, and lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Assisting with the evacuation of residents when necessary.
• Ability to read and write in the English language.
• Passing a background check and drug test is required.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification is preferred but not required; the employer will state test if not certified.
