About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position at Trinity Health PACE is a vital role that directly impacts the lives of participants by providing essential personal care services and health support. This full-time position is specifically designed for the evening shift, running from 2 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with the expectation of working every other weekend and holiday. The PCA will be working in a program that serves a community of deaf seniors, which requires a commitment to learning American Sign Language (ASL). The role is not only about providing care but also about fostering a supportive environment that promotes the independence and well-being of the participants. In this position, the PCA will conduct ongoing assessments and monitoring of participants, ensuring their needs are met effectively. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities such as toileting, grooming, and meal preparation, as well as helping to maintain physical activity and exercise routines. The PCA will also be responsible for identifying safety hazards, responding to emergencies, and assisting with recreational activities, meal service, and housekeeping tasks. It is crucial for the PCA to report any changes in a participant's condition to the center staff and to escort participants to appointments, providing necessary transportation assistance. The role requires a compassionate individual who can work independently and adapt to changing situations, ensuring that the participants receive the highest quality of care. The position offers a $2500 sign-on bonus, contingent upon a two-year commitment, paid in three installments, and provides comprehensive benefits including medical coverage from the first day of employment, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, a 403B retirement plan, and educational assistance.
