The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Maxim Healthcare Services plays a crucial role in providing assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and certain hands-on care to clients. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of clients, including personal hygiene care, toileting, medication reminders, transfers, and ambulation. The PCA is also responsible for companion tasks such as accompanying clients to appointments and maintaining a healthy living environment through personal laundry and light housekeeping. The hands-on care provided by the PCA is contingent upon the licensing requirements within the state of practice, ensuring compliance with local regulations. In this role, the PCA must assist patients with personal care activities, which include bathing, oral hygiene, meal preparation and feeding, dressing and undressing, and other necessary activities. The PCA is expected to perform all duties assigned in an accurate and timely manner while maintaining the confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA standards. Observing appropriate infection control procedures is essential to safeguard the client/patient, and the PCA must notify the office of any abnormal findings or conditions. The PCA is required to adhere to the standards, policies, and procedures of Maxim Healthcare Services, arriving at the client's home on time and completing the shift as scheduled. Representing the company positively at all times is crucial, as is demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of clients. Effective communication with office staff regarding availability and compliance with time and attendance policies is also a key responsibility. The PCA may be required to provide necessary documentation related to compliance standards and perform other duties as assigned.
