About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role at Capital Health Home Care Concierge involves providing essential support to clients in their daily living activities as outlined in individualized care plans. This position is crucial in ensuring clients maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment while receiving companionship and assistance with personal care tasks. The PCA will work under the supervision of the Executive Director and will be responsible for various duties that enhance the quality of life for clients.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing meals according to specific dietary requirements of the client.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment through light housekeeping tasks.
• Providing companionship and stimulation for the client, including reading and walks.
• Accompanying the client to doctors or other appointments.
• Performing grocery shopping or other errands when needed.
• Recording pertinent information pertaining to the client's care.
• Reminding clients to take medication at the appropriate time.
• Assisting the client with exercises and personal care tasks such as grooming and dressing.
• Assisting with ambulation and routine bodily functions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience as a Personal Care Assistant, verifiable through references.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and mature responsible behavior.
• Reliable transportation to and from assignments.
