About the position

EmpathyKare Home Care is seeking compassionate and dedicated Independent Contractors to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance, including seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those cared for.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide patient monitoring to ensure the health and safety of clients.
  • Support individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities through direct support and engagement.
  • Help with mobility assistance, including lifting and transferring clients as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Cook nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and any changes in client conditions.
  • Document daily activities and report any concerns or changes in client health to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 18-years old
  • A valid driver's license may be required depending on the location of services provided.
  • No felony convictions or other criminal offenses
  • Previous experience or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of senior care practices and patient monitoring techniques is beneficial.
  • Ability to work with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor are essential for this role.
  • Must be physically able to lift clients and perform necessary caregiving tasks.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is desirable but not required; training may be provided.
