About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team at 001Care, Inc. This part-time position is designed for individuals who are committed to providing support to physically or mentally challenged customers in their daily lives. The role involves assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), which include personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, as the fulfillment that comes from helping others is a significant aspect of this job. You will be expected to communicate effectively and maintain a polite demeanor while working closely with clients and their families. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that clients receive their medications on time, assisting them with mobility, and providing emotional support. You will also be tasked with cooking meals that adhere to any dietary restrictions, helping clients with shopping, and performing necessary housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment. It is crucial to act quickly and responsibly in emergency situations and to keep physicians or supervisors informed about any unusual occurrences. This position requires a commitment to working 15 hours per week, specifically during the day shift from Monday to Friday, with hours from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure clients receive their medication on time
  • Support clients who can't move on their own
  • Help clients dress, bathe, eat, etc.
  • Assist clients with physical therapy exercises
  • Cook meals according to the customer's restrictions
  • Help customers with their shopping
  • Do necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
  • Provide emotional support
  • Inform physicians or supervisors about uncommon events
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

  • Experience in caregiving, preferably 1 year
  • Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Experience in housekeeping tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Compassionate and positive attitude
