In your role as a PCA, you will be responsible for caring for the personal hygiene and care needs of patients. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and aides, to deliver exceptional patient care. Your daily tasks will include assisting patients with bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, and nutritional intake. Additionally, you will help with ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises, while also monitoring vital signs, measuring intake/output, and documenting any changes in patient conditions. Observing patients and notifying supervisors of any issues requiring changes in care, medication, or equipment will also be a critical part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Care for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients in various facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Assist patients with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, and nutritional intake.
  • Help with ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises.
  • Check vitals, measure intake/output, and monitor blood glucose levels.
  • Document any changes in patient conditions and notify supervisors of issues requiring a change in care, medication, or equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on nursing care experience in a medical facility.
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Compassionate nature and good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
