About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) with Sweet Homemaker, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our clients in their homes. We are seeking certified home health aides in various locations in New London, CT, who are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients. Your responsibilities will include assisting individuals with daily living activities, which may involve bathing, dressing, grooming, and providing mobility support. You will also be responsible for administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals and monitoring vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel. In addition to physical care, you will provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, helping to create a nurturing environment. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients is also a key aspect of your role. We are looking for individuals who have previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, or patients requiring home care. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification is required.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to read and write at a 5th grade level.
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and valid car insurance.
