As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) with Sweet Homemaker, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our clients in their homes. This position is centered around ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals who require assistance due to developmental disabilities, age-related issues, or other health concerns. Your responsibilities will include personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as assisting with mobility and transfers. You will be the heart of our client's care, providing not only physical support but also emotional companionship to enhance their quality of life. In this role, you will be responsible for administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals and monitoring vital signs to report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients is also a key aspect of your duties. You will be expected to provide emotional support to both patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and caring atmosphere in their homes. Your work will directly contribute to our reputation as a national leader in home care, making a significant difference in the lives of those in need. To succeed in this position, you must be a certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality. You should possess the ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed. This role requires a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and valid car insurance, as you will be traveling to various locations in New London, CT. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to read and write at a 5th grade level.
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and valid car insurance.
