As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) with Sweet Homemaker, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our clients in their homes. This position is centered around ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals who require assistance due to developmental disabilities, age-related issues, or other health concerns. You will be at the heart of our client's care, delivering the support they need to maintain their independence and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as assisting with mobility and transfers. You will also be responsible for administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals and monitoring vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel. In addition to physical care, you will provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, helping to create a nurturing environment that promotes comfort and security. Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to patients in their homes, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

Requirements

  • Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification is required.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to read and write at a 5th grade level.
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and valid car insurance.
