About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Wallick Communities plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by providing direct care and support in a safe and comfortable environment. This position involves working collaboratively with a team to ensure residents receive exceptional personal service and care, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs. The PCA is expected to communicate effectively with residents and staff, assist with daily living activities, and contribute to a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional personal service and daily care to residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff management, and families.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Provide physical resident care, including personal hygiene and grooming.
• Respond to call lights in a timely manner and address residents' needs accordingly.
• Assist in maintaining acceptable nutrition for residents and document meal intake.
• Know proper techniques for first aid.
• Complete documentation of medication reminders.
• Assist in maintaining a therapeutic environment for residents.
• Motivate and encourage resident involvement in activities.
• Assist residents to and from activities.
• Lift, turn, and reposition residents as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• CPR Certification
• High School Diploma or GED
• Customer service skills
• Writing skills
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices
• Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Nurse Aide Certification is a plus but not required.
