About the position

Langdon Place of Exeter is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Personal Care Assistants (PCA). This role is essential in providing support to our residents, ensuring they can maintain their independence while receiving the highest quality of care. As a PCA, you will assist residents with their daily activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, and personal hygiene. Your compassionate approach will help create a nurturing environment that respects the individual needs and rights of each resident. In this position, you will be responsible for observing and documenting any changes in residents' conditions and needs, communicating these observations to your supervisor and other staff members. You will also follow established procedures for medication reminders, ensuring that residents receive their medications at the correct times. Responding to emergency call lights promptly and appropriately is another critical aspect of this role, as it ensures the safety and well-being of our residents. Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with bathing, eating, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed.
  • Inform supervisor and other staff of changes in residents' conditions and needs and document these observations thoroughly.
  • Follow procedure for medication reminders to ensure correct day, time, and that they are being taken.
  • Answer emergency call lights and respond appropriately.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents and visitors and respond to their medical and physical needs.
