About the position

Start your nursing career journey as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Genesis HealthCare, where you will provide essential assistance to residents with their daily activities to support an independent lifestyle within the Senior Living Community. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our residents receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes their individual needs and rights. As a PCA, you will assist residents with bathing, eating, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times. In this role, you will be required to inform your supervisor and other staff members of any changes in residents' conditions and needs, documenting these observations thoroughly to maintain accurate records. You will also follow established procedures for medication reminders, ensuring that medications are taken at the correct times. Responding to emergency call lights promptly and appropriately is crucial, as is performing dining room duties and assisting residents with their dining needs. Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with bathing, eating, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed.
  • Inform supervisor and other staff of changes in residents' conditions and needs and document these observations thoroughly.
  • Follow procedure for medication reminders to ensure correct day, time, and that they are being taken.
  • Answer emergency call lights and respond appropriately.
  • Perform dining room duties and assist with dining needs of residents.

Requirements

  • Current certificate in an accredited First Aid course and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is required.
  • Participation in medication course is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients and visitors.
